King of Net is a public status game. There is no sign-up. We still process some data so the throne can be ranked, votes can stay one-per-person, and tribute can be paid.

Who operates this

King of Net is a HackifyTech product. This page explains what we collect when you use the site.

What we collect

Crowns. Name, public slug, whether the crown is a person or a business, and the website or social link you provide. Votes, tribute totals, and Power are public. If you paste a link to claim a crown, we fetch that page's public title so we can name it. We do not log in to your account.

Manage key. When you claim a crown we generate a secret manage URL. Anyone with that link can edit the crown. We store the key so the link works. We do not recover it if you lose it.

Votes. We hash your IP address with a server secret and store that hash so one person cannot vote twice. We do not store your raw IP with the vote. We may briefly see your IP to create the hash and to run abuse checks.

Tribute. Amount, time, crown, and a Stripe checkout session id. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored on King of Net.

Steward access. The admin portal uses an email and password you configure, plus a signed cookie. That is for operators, not the court.

Cookies and similar

We set a vote cookie so the site can remember that you already voted. Theme preference is stored in your browser. Cloudflare Turnstile may set cookies when captcha is enabled. Stripe sets cookies on Checkout.

Why we use it

To run the game: rank Power, keep one vote per person, record tribute, show public crowns, stop abuse, and operate payments. We do not sell your data. We do not use it to build a marketing list.

Who else sees it

Public pages show names, links, votes, tribute, and Power. Processors that help us run the site may receive what they need to do their job, including Stripe (payments) and Cloudflare (Turnstile). Hosting and database providers hold the records we store.

How long we keep it

Crown, vote, and tribute records stay for as long as the court exists, unless we remove a crown or a record as operators. Hashed votes stay so the one-vote rule can be enforced.

Your choices

There is no account to delete. If you have the manage link you can edit the public name and link. Depending on where you live you may have rights to ask about personal data we hold. We may not be able to find you from a vote hash alone.

Children

King of Net is not directed at children. Do not claim a crown or pay tribute if you are not old enough to use the site and, for tribute, to make a payment where you live.
